Deutsche WindGuard gains momentum in the Indian market
Customers profit from local expertise and interdisciplinary knowledge base in Germany
Chennai/Varel, 2020-11-26: Two years after its foundation, Deutsche WindGuard India has become an integral part of the Indian wind energy industry. Managing Director Dr. Kumaravel Rathinavel is satisfied with the company’s positive results and achievements: “We are looking back on a great number of successful consulting activities already. Deutsche WindGuard India offers customers full access to the German wind energy consultant’s portfolio – including energy yield assessments, power curve verification tests, power quality measurements, load simulations, design consultancy, certification support and technical due diligence, to name just the recently most demanded services from the Indian wind energy market.
This also included, for the third consecutive time, that Deutsche WindGuard India has received repeat orders from two of the country’s top independent power producers. Acting as their representatives, the wind energy experts from Chennai have successfully conducted power curve verification tests at five different locations – despite all COVID-19-related restrictions.
With support from its German load simulation experts, Deutsche WindGuard India has also successfully supported two of India’s most renowned wind turbine manufacturers. The load simulations performed according to IEC 61400-01 (Ed3) are a prerequisite for the renewal of their type certificates with migration to latest IEC standards. Another manufacturer commissioned WindGuard’s experts to conduct a power quality measurement campaign according to IEC 61400-21 for his prototype turbine.
The Indian wind energy market also profits from Deutsche WindGuard Wind Tunnel Services’ quality made in Germany in the field of anemometer and wind vane sales, calibration and classification. The Chennai office can serve as a first point of contact for Indian customers.
