Our Philosophy

Information security –
protection of data, knowledge and property

At Deutsche WindGuard Group, we stand for partnerships and business relationships based on trust. Securing this trust in the long term is our endeavour. That is why we handle our business partners’ data and property responsibly.

Respectful handling of company data

We recognise the value of a company's intellectual property. Thus, we not only safeguard our own knowledge, but also that of our business partners. This applies, among other things, to general information, technical details, patents, company and business secrets. All information-processing procedures are based on the principle that confidentiality, integrity and availability of sensitive information must be guaranteed and unauthorised use must be prevented.

In 2022, we were one of the first providers of technical management for wind farms to prove to the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI - Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik) that our 24/7 control centre meets the requirements for operators of critical infrastructures (KRITIS) in accordance with § 8a of the BSI Act. The successful implementation of the security concept required for this was proven in an independent audit.

Protection of personal data

In business relationships, dealing with personal data and information is unavoidable. Handling personal data is subject to special legal regulations. Collection, storage, processing and other use of personal data require the consent of the person concerned, a contractual provision or other legal exception. We comply with these legal regulations internationally.

Best practice examples

  • We contribute to the annual KRITIS conference organised by the Ministry of the Interior of our Federal State Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony).

  • As a member of the “Information Security” working group in the TR7 technical committee of the German wind energy advancement association (FGW – Fördergesellschaft Windenergie und andere Dezentrale Energien) we help develop the necessary IT security measures for the wind energy industry to fulfil the required legal and normative framework of the BSI-KritisV.
